The Legend of Linwood
January 1, 2000, you’re thinking the end of the world, major computer crash, right? Not Brad Hansen and his wife Teresa. They are thinking that it is New Year’s and everybody wants one thing and one thing only: pizza. So, the journey had begun. Brad and Teresa, lifelong residents of Linwood, along with their four kids opened the first Linwood Pizza inside of Carlisle store (thanks to the generosity of Cathy Carlisle in return of Brad helping her re-build the store after a terrible fire) thinking they would be happy, if they could only deliver 20 pizzas a night. Man, were they in for a huge surprise. The very first night they did almost 50 orders and were off and running.
Wyoming, the town just 5 miles down the road. Unfortunately, this location didn’t do nearly as well as the location in Linwood and was closed shortly thereafter. This didn’t mean that this location was a failure though. Brad had learned valuable lessons on how to manage the two stores and how to choose his next location. The next location would be Lindstrom, and it was a huge hit. The first week we were in town we had done better than the Linwood location had ever done. Linwood Pizza was off and running.
Linwood Pizza now has seven locations including a brand new location in downtown Minneapolis. We are looking forward to all of the great new things that we have on the way. In September of 2008, we will be adding Internet ordering to all of our stores so that you can order your favorite pizza with just a click of a button. We are also re-constructing our website at the same time. We also plan to franchise in the next two to five years so that the great people who have helped us build our business by ordering our pizza can now become owners of Linwood Pizza’s in their hometown. We thank you so much for all of the outstanding support that you have given this small town pizzeria turned American Dream.
